|
Dear Prospective Applicant,
We want to thank you for inquiring about the Detroit Red Wings Alumni Association, Inc.. Since 1959, the Alumni have raised money for worthy charitable projects and organizations encouraging a continued interest in amateur hockey and athletics, as well as, assisting those in need. Here you will find a Grant Application Form ( please click or use the buttons below for a printable form ) with guidelines regarding the grant application process, the grant decision making process, and so forth. Grants are awarded annually based on the funds we generate. Grants are awarded based on one of the two focus areas which are as follows: (Note: all applicants must be a non-profit corporation and a 501(c)(3) IRS organization in good standing in order to be considered)
Focus Areas: Supporting and encouraging amateur hockey and athletics: We look to provide funds to new and/or existing recreational programs for those involved in various sports and/or other related recreational activities. This may include sports related equipment, program development, participant funding, et. al.
Encouraging those who are less fortunate: We look to fund organizations, programs, and foundations for those in need, (i.e. youth-based services, counseling, special needs for youth/adults/families, medical needs, developmental disabilities, et. al.) Providing opportunities to the underprivileged and/or programs which may directly impact these individuals in a positive manner is a goal of the Detroit Red Wings Alumni Association. Those who apply for grants may receive these grants for one or more years contingent upon funding availability and need. The Board of Directors, by simple majority vote, determines funding and their decision is final. All organizations receiving funding are subject to a random audit by the Alumni's Treasurer and/or by an independent auditing firm. Those organizations not adhering to their funding criteria may be subject to reimbursing the Alumni for any expenses incurred which are not in accordance with the specific grant request. For information, please contact us at 810.434.4446 or here at the website . Together, we are helping others by raising funds as we are
"Skating for a Cause."
Sincerely,
David Goetze, MA, LLP, NCP
